Freie Theologische Hochschule Gießen – Giessen School of Theology

Excellent Training for Ministries in the Church and Missions

The Giessen School of Theology is a state-accredited evangelical seminary that offers a three-year B.A. and a two-year M.A. in evangelical theology.

The school, which was founded in 1974, is one of the largest theological schools in Germany today. Currently, about 140 students from many countries are taught by fifteen full-time faculty members and various guest teachers. More than 700 graduates are serving as pastors, teachers, or missionaries around the world, in over 40 countries.

The academic programs at FTH are thoroughly Bible-centered. Exegetical studies are based on the Hebrew and Greek texts. This commitment to the Holy Scriptures informs all other disciplines, whether Practical Theology, which offers a variety of courses in expository preaching, Biblical counseling, and Christian education, or systematic theology, or Church history, or evangelism and missions. All focus on the development of biblical methods and strive to make God’s word the standard for the evaluation and treatment of contemporary issues and ethics.

Tuition fees at the seminary are currently € 175 per month.

If you are interested in our programs please write us in English or German. We would be glad to hear from you.

If you are interested in studying at the FTH, please note that the language of instuction is German. Therefore a good knowledge of the German language is mandatory for students.
